My almost 3 year old daughter fell down a week ago while running down the hallway in our home. She hurt her foot and would not walk that evening or the next morning. We took her to the pediatrician and had X rays. There is no physical problem with the foot. One week later she still refuses to stand or walk and she is not in any pain. When I ask her why she tells me she can't walk because she is scared to. She rides her tricycle and other ride on toys so I know she is OK as far as pain.
I have tried everything I can think of to encourage her to walk again and nothing seems to work. Our pedi tells us to just ignore her, pretend all is normal & she will suddenly just walk again although he does think that 1 week is longer than expected. Any advice would be appreciated.
I am not a medical professional. Your doctor is your best source of advice. However, when my granddaughter fell and had a few problems my daughter took her to a chiropractor and got immediate results. Of course she had been seeing a chiropractor since she was born and this chiropractor specialized in pediatric chiropractic.
Regretfully, I cannot be of more assistance to you, medical advice is beyond my scope of expertise.
