QUESTION: My grandson is 3 months old, and he is always hungry, is it to early to put some cereal in his bottle? i cant remember how old my kids were when i gave then cereal in their bottle.
ANSWER: Dear Barb,
Unless you are raising your grandchild. I suggest you ask his mother. This is not a decision that I would encourage you to continue with outside of mom's preferences. If you can't stand to see him hungry then tell her that as well.

QUESTION: The reason i don't check with his mother is because, the mother just turned 17, and is a child herself, i told her i would look for info for her, him not trying to go over her head. this is the second time somebody has told me, to check with the mother, Well the mother came from a broken family, and her mother is not here, so sometimes there is circumstances that people shouldn't always judge and think, another grandma trying to take over, it's not like that
Answer: Dear Barb,
Okay. Please remember this information was not available to me. It helps if more information is provided.
Now, if he is being breastfed (again something I don't know) then he may want to eat more as he is growing. I don't suggest putting him on food or cereal. It is still good for the mother to take responsibility and make these decisions. Maybe you could suggest she contact the baby's doctor? If the doctor and she can discuss it, this may help her to feel more confident and less unsure of herself.
It is commendable that you are concerned for her and the baby. She is lucky to have you there to have her back!
